Just Another Laundry Story!

So, it has been a very long time since I have posted. That is for a variety of reasons (we don't have internet, we have a baby, I cook three meals a day and wash the dishes almost that many times, and many more reasons).
But, we have great news. In September, we were in Lima for a week. That was to file for Ady's Social Security number, and also to apply, yet again, for Sixto's visa. Well, if you didn't already know, Sixto received his visa (10 year, multiple entry), so we will be coming to the United States for a 10 week visit! (That is almost 20% of a year!) We are sooooooooooooooooo excited about that! (Laundry Story, part 1) The only minus is it will be cold, and Sixto has very little cold weather clothes, and most of mine are too big (but I can make do!). So we hope to enjoy a lot of indoor warmth!
Now, I have tons to do in the next few weeks to get ready, so you will not be seeing another blog, for sure!!! In those tasks that need to be done, (Laundry Story, part 2) lots of washing. I have a suitcase of "cold" weather clothes here that need to be washed so we can take them with us to the USA. When I say cold, I mean mostly long sleeve t-shirts, and a couple of sweaters for me. We do use jeans here and Sixto usually wears long pants, so that helps on the bottom end.
(Laundry Story, part 3) Not only do we have that additional laundry, but I have to keep up on the normal laundry, which at this time of the year, can be a challenge. We are in the rainy season, and we rely on the sun to dry our clothes. I had lines inside the house, for such occasions, but we started selling concrete, and it has to be dry. So the only lines inside now are in the baby's room. Today, I was able to wash clothes for the first time in about a week and a half. I washed two loads! One in the morning, that got completely dry, and one in the late morning that didn't get on the line until after lunch. It got dry except for the area where the clothespins were, but the rain was coming, so I had to take it down. Now fear, the lines in the baby's room had towels, but they were dry too, so the slightly damp at the clothespins t-shirts got to go on the lines in the baby's room on top of each other until they get dry. Now I have tons to fold, but thank the Lord, I love to do laundry! Dishes on the other hand...(Who would like to come and visit and wash dishes? Pay no room and board, don't cook, don't clean the house, just wash dishes and enjoy life!!!)
Who said laundry isn't fun! We have a rainbow of colored polos!

The dry towels in the baby's room.

Almost laundry free. Only a load of towels needs to be washed, but we have lots of towels!

The dry clothes piled on my bed for folding.

The damp at the clothespin shirts and pants in the baby's room.
This has been another laundry story, brought to you by the Gaona's. We want to say a huge thank-you to all who prayed with us for Sixto's visa, and we want to ask for continued prayers for our upcoming visit to the USA! God has been so good to us, and what's a little extra laundry!

TWO YEARS!!!

Time flies! We have been married two years! We came to Juanjui on the 20th to celebrate, and stayed overnight in a hotel. When the owner found out it was our anniversary, she gave us another night free. So, as we get ready to leave today, we are feeling blessed and refreshed! Although, Ady didn't want a picture.

Kitchen Sink

This blog is quite late, but I wanted to do it anyway. My dad and Sixto got me a kitchen sink!!! and installed it with a faucet...no more sitting on a block of wood on the bathroom floor to wash the dishes. And, the kitchen sink is removable and so, when and if we move, we will be taking the kitchen sink with us!!! :-)

Before the kitchen sink we washed dishes on the bathroom floor...
this is not how I washed them...this was my mom's set up when she came to my house.

My dad and Sixto worked on getting a kitchen sink in the house while my parents were here.

Nice looking...huh? I was pleased with it like this, though Sixto had to carry water
one or two times a day for me to wash the dishes since Ady had just been born.

When we went to Chiclayo for the centennial celebration, we bought a faucet.

REALLY NICE LOOKING NOW...HUH?

100 Years in Peru

We had the privilege to go to the 100 year celebration of the Church of the Nazarene in Peru. It was in Chiclayo at the end of October to the first of November. We were able to visit with many friends from all over Peru that we hadn't seen for a very long time. We had a great time and it was a wonderful celebration. There were more than 10,000 Nazarenes at the final service on Sunday morning, and on Saturday, there was a Nazarene parade with over 12,000 people in it. I didn't go in the parade, because it would have been too much with a one month old, but Sixto took a bunch of pictures. Like I said, it was a wonderful time! Here are a few pics.

Update On Our Lives

Well, we came to Tarapoto to pick up my parents at the airport yesterday. Today we have spent the day shopping for things that we can't get in Campanilla (like mozzarella cheese!!!) and tomorrow we will head back home.
My mom and dad arrived very tired, but happy. We let them sleep from 3:30 pm until this morning around 7:00 am. They felt much better when they got up this morning. We spent some time with the family of my good friend, Nancy Mong. We wentto the plaza and had supper, and now I am showing you a picture of my current self. We are ready to go to bed so we can get up and go to Campanilla tomorrow and on the way, stop in Juanjui and pick up some packages from the post office (at least 3), Yay!!!
Well, that is a little update for now. We are feeling so blessed with my parents here! Thanks for all the well wishes from everyone. God has blessed us greatly!

With just about two weeks to go, some say I don't look
very pregnant. Let me tell you, I feel pregnant!!

Visit from Nancy!!!

I was so blessed to have a couple days with my good friend, Nancy Mong. She is one of the missionaries I served with in Pucallpa. She now is married to one of our other co-workers, Tim Mong, and they live in Idaho. She was here in Peru, visiting her family, which fortunately for me, only live 2 1/2 hours away from me. So she and her mom came to visit us for a couple of days. We had a great time, and for all of you who want pregnant pictures, here are a few. So glad that Nancy could to visit! Now we are waiting on my parents next month!

Enjoying some cacoa! Que rico!
Nancy too!

Leaving the chacra of Uncle Edilberto and Aunt Maria.
